Just finished a 4 track EP for Shadowplay. All tracks were recorded completely live, with additional guitar parts and vocals overdubbed.
Jørgen Svela had been arranging some classic Christmas songs for a jazz trio. He is a fantastic musician, and in particular a great jazz guitarist.
We got hold of a portable Pro Tools rig and set up camp in the LIPA studio theatre for a day. The band came up with a setlist, and we recorded the whole thing live. It’s got a great vibe to it. Hopefully my fairy lights helped with that…
Once upon a time, during my A Levels, I helped these guys record their band’s songs in our school studio.
So when they wanted some new sounding tracks to put on their myspace, they came to me to try and re-mix the old recordings. This sounded like a lot of fun, so I jumped at the chance.
4 raw sessions were given to me, which I proceeded to strip back, and mix from scratch.

Jon and I recorded 4 live demo tracks for Jacob’s band, Greenwich Tea Party.
We had everyone set up in a room. Douglas playing an upright piano, Fabian playing his 50 year old kit, and Jacob with his dad’s guitar. Jacob brought his lamp too for some extra ‘vibe’. The tracks don’t sound perfect, but have loads of feeling in them. Something that you just cant quite capture with overdubs.
Martine had been advertising for some guys to record her debut EP. Jon approached her with a plan, and she keenly accepted.
We spent a number of late nights in the studio, over the course of about 3 weeks, and I’m pleased to say that it is finished and sounding pretty nice!

Worked on a project for Liz with Joe and Jon. We arranged and produced the song ‘July’ in early 2009.
